		Hippy's Bleeder Chains Jim Mayer and his father "Hit" created these innovative new walleye baits that have become my favorites on many lakes and reservoirs.  Jim created the Bleeder Chain series when he noticed a trend in the fishing lure industry to emulate wounded and bleeding bait. Hippy's Bleeder Chain™ bait rigs can be fished numerous ways.  A Spin Float and Top Prop rig can be fished out of a boat trolling with a bottom bouncer tipped with a minnow, crawler, leech, or favorite plastic grub.  A Microball Float and Football Float can be fished similarly.  Bottom dwelling fish like walleye hit a Microball Float rig since it is closer to the bottom.  A Football Float rig suspends therefore allowing the suspended fish to strike.  A Microball Float rig can be fished beneath a bobber with a small split shot pinched about 18-inches up from the hook.  Then tip with your favorite bait.  This works really well for catching panfish like crappie and bluegill.  I love these rigs when fishing around or over weeds as they keep my bait above the vegetation which drives the walleye crazy!  Hippy's Bleeder Chains The Bleeder Chains prove to be very successful in the summer as the wounded bait fish look consistently turns on inactive fish.  However, Hippy's recently created a new line of Ice Jigging Spoons which have become my favorite bait when ice fishing!  For targeting perch and walleye, I tip my baits with actual fish meat--both sucker meat as well as perch strips.  The scent from this natural bait extends out through the water column bringing fish in from above and below the bait.  This bait selection along with the wounded bait fish look of the Ice Jigging Spoon is a fantastic lure!  Hippy's Ice Jigging Spoons Please also check out the new O Ring attachment I speak about on the homepage.  If you fish high pressured walleye, these are a fantastic go-to presentation that will make all the difference!

		Disabled American Veterans Last year on the tournament trail, I donated 100% of my winnings to the Disabled American Veterans organization which provides support, encouragement and a better life for the noble men and women who become disabled while serving our country.  I feel fortunate to fish while troops overseas are fighting for us and for the rights of the citizens of Afganistan and Iraq.  Many injuries soldiers receive are not outwardly visible.  Nonetheless, they negatively affect the soldier and his/her family--often for a lifetime.  I hope to continue to utilize my fishing skills and raise money for this important organization.  Anyone interested in donating to this great cause may contact me directly for information or can learn more through the DAV website.  Disabled American Veterans

		Quantum Accurist Reels - Versatility for Walleye Anglers I get asked a lot about the baitcasting reels I choose to use.  Because I pull a lot of spinners, bottom bouncers, live bait rigs, and jigs, I really don't think there is a better reel on the market for walleye fisherman than the Quantum Accurist.  They come in left and right handed models so you can fish two poles st the same time and when you feel a bump, you can drop one and have your hand on the reel of the other in seconds without having to change hands.  The feature I love most about these reels is the "flippin switch".  This allows you to hold two rods at the same time and continually adjust your depth by touching the release bar.  If you are fishing depth contours, this means more time in the strike zone and less time trying to get there.  Quantum Accurist Reels
